Hotstar Specials presents Out of Love – a show on infidelity

~ When infidelity knocks on your door, do you Forgive, Forget or Fight?

~ Produced by BBC Studios India and starring Rasika Dugal and Purab Kohli, catch the gripping drama series on Hotstar VIP from 22nd November 2019 ~

Happily Never After – three words that sum up the life of Dr Meera Kapoor. Everything about her life was seemingly perfect; until the fateful day when she found out her husband was having an affair. Hotstar Specials is set to launch its latest series – Out of Love a gripping drama series that explores the emotional and psychological dilemma that erupts from complex relationships; and raises the key question – when faced with infidelity, would you Forgive, Forget or Fight?

An official adaptation of multi award winning show Doctor FosterOut of Love is a riveting portrait of a marriage that’s poisoned by infidelity, heartbreak and betrayal. Starring powerhouse talent Rasika Dugal and Purab Kohli in the lead, the show also stars Soni RazdanHarsh Chhaya, Aanjjan Srivaastav and Sanghmitra Hitaishi in pivotal roles. Produced by BBC Studios, the show has been directed by critically acclaimed filmmakers, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Aijaz Khan and is slated to launch on 22nd November 2019 only on Hotstar VIP.

Gaurav Banerjee, President & Head – Hindi Entertainment, Star India said, “We are excited to bring to viewers a bold story about love, betrayal and revenge. This award-winning British drama has been adapted by a great creative and some wonderful actors. We hope viewers enjoy the ride!”

Actor Rasika Dugal said, “Hotstar Specials presents Out of Love’ is a modern-day drama that offers an intimate and psychological look at the aftereffects of infidelity.  Pop-culture has often focused on why people cheat; Out of Love on the other hand explores the emotional turmoil and dilemma that arises from it. It is a character driven narrative and it was an experience for me to inhabit Meera’s world as she struggles to make choices after her seemingly perfect life begins to crumble when she finds out that her husband is cheating on her”

Actor Purab Kohli added, “Infidelity is becoming more and more common and often you find yourself caught within six degrees of it.  How a couple reacts to a situation where one partner is cheating on the other is very subjective. It’s not just a black and white reaction anymore, often people forgive or forget in the hope of saving other aspects of the relationship.  And sometimes it’s a fight to the finish.”

Director Aijaz Khan added, “Gone are the days when on-screen portrayal of infidelity was polarized to women being victimized. Hotstar Specials presents Out of Love showcases a very different side of an emotional tussle; and that challenged me as a director – to constantly try and break the mould and present the story in a different lens. Tigmanshu and I are have worked very closely to bring alive the creative execution of this show to life and I hope people enjoy the fruit of our labour

IMW looks like a weathered TV show (IANS Review)

Film: “India’s Most Wanted”; Director: Raj Kumar Gupta; Cast: Arjun Kapoor, Rajesh Sharma, Gaurav Mishra, Prasanth and Aasif Khan; Rating: **

Inspired by true events, director Raj Kumar Gupta’s “India’s Most Wanted” (IMW) is an action thriller that fails to entice.

Arjun Kapoor plays Prabhat Kapoor, an intelligence officer, who without any official permission, along with a team of trusted lieutenants set out to capture Yusuf, India’s most wanted terrorist.

Yusuf, responsible for numerous blasts in India, is also referred to as India’s Osama Bin Laden. How Prabhat and his team, in an operation, track the dreaded terrorist and arrest him without firing a single bullet, forms the crux of the narrative.

The script, written by Gupta, is lethargically mounted with cast-ready characters who are totally unimpressive. The exposition is verbose and the dialogues, run-of-the-mill. The only line, mouthed by Prabhat that drills into your head is, “That man is dangerous for the country, we can’t take a risk, Sir.”

The narrative meanders, giving us glimpses of numerous terrorist attacks in the country and the anti-terrorist squad grappling with internal issues ranging from permission to funds to an insight of their family lives. It’s only in the last act, if you are still hooked, that you would still care for what is happening, despite the low-key tension.

But the most interesting takeaway revealed in the film is why the actor Shah Rukh Khan was hassled by the US immigration, when he travelled to that country.

The lone song in the second half breaks the momentum and gives us relief from the tedious narrative.

Arjun Kapoor is charming. With a natural disposition he performs effortlessly. But with lack of active dramatic moments, he appears to be sleep-walking through his role and so are the supporting cast members.

The mounting may be natural, but the film lacks cinematic finesse in all aspects. The film appears like a weather-beaten television show. The cinematography is realistic and the frames appear chaotic. The blaring background score that accompany the visuals seem a misfit to the flow of the visuals.

Overall, the film is not worth its ticket price.

300 cars gutted in Aero show fire in Bengaluru on Saturday

A fire in the parking lot in front of the Yelahanka air base in Bengaluru, where the Aero India show is underway, gutted around 300 cars on Saturday, police said. No casualties were reported.

The fire is likely to have been caused due to dry grass catching fire aided by high velocity winds, Director General of Police in Karnataka M.N. Reddi told IANS.

The fire, which began at around 12 noon, quickly burnt down the vehicles parked by visitors and public attending the show at the Indian Air Force base.

It gave out thick black smoke. Attempts were made to control the blaze by creating a gap by removing adjacent cars.
