FILA India and Superkicks have teamed up to launch a new limited edition collection of footwear for the Indian market. The limited-edition capsule known as VENOM NH8 draws design inspiration from the journey of the brand Superkicks synonymous with the founder Sangeet Paryani, from the pink city to the city of lights.
From its archives, the brand has chosen FILA Venom style for this lifestyle collaboration. The Fila Venom is a silhouette that first released in 1994 and is named after its viperfang vamp intercrossing. The Venom was originally designed to accommodate the needs of frequent runners who require breathability and support. This chunky retro inspired version of the original Venom has been a successful silhouette for India and global market in recent times.
Every detail in the Venom NH8 has a story to tell including its name derived from the origins of the idea of Superkicks. The colors on the sneaker represent the roots of Superkicks and attached to a certain nostalgia that represents the passion in overdrive mode. The Venom NH8 colors are a combination of the Pink city of India-Jaipur and the Blue seas of Mumbai. These opposites are balanced by Black signifying the highway that connects these two cities.
“The opening of the first Superkicks store in Mumbai was a significant moment in time for the community of people who love footwear and streetwear, the NH8 is representative of this journey. We spent a long time working on this concept, scrapping many options and tweaking all sorts of small details and on a personal level I feel ecstatic about the way are able to tell the story through the product”, said RohanBatra, MD, Cravatex brands Limited the Licensee for Fila in India.
On the collaboration SangeetParyani, Founder, Superkicks added, “My idea for Superkicks was born in a place I thought was most unlikely – my hometown when I was working with my dad and trying to make something of my own. I knew that for this idea to come to life, I’ll need to make my journey out of Jaipur. This journey led me to Mumbai, and NH8 became symbolic of my idea and the path towards making it a reality. This collaboration between Fila x Superkicks represented through Venom NH8 stands testimony to my journey. They are an ode to those pivotal journeys that make us who we are.”
